All over Sri Lanka you are able to see different kinds of Primates / monkeys.

(Some parts of Kandy you may even need to close windows and doors in your hotel room to avoid a monkey visit.) 

Near or by most tempels you may see a lot of monkeys. They may get pretty close to you.
